THE AXIS PROJECT: EMPOWERING COMMUNITIES LIVING WITH DISABILITIES THROUGH INNOVATION AND SOCIAL INCLUSION
Mission
The Axis Project is a 501(c)(3) organization pioneering a new model of inclusive wellness and community care — a universally designed hub where people with disabilities and older adults can move, create, connect, and belong.
Our mission is to foster meaningful relationships and strengthen mental, physical, and economic wellbeing through adaptive fitness, nutrition, creativity, technology, and community-driven programming.
Origin Story

Born from the urgent need for meaningful community and sustained rehabilitation opportunities for people with disabilities, George Gallego founded The Axis Project to fill the gaps left by traditional systems. Through his work supporting individuals transitioning from nursing homes to independent living, he witnessed how isolation, limited social options, and inadequate insurance-covered therapy created cycles of regression and disconnection.
The Axis Project was created to move beyond clinical care—establishing an inclusive community hub where people with disabilities and older adults can move, create, socialize, and grow. More than a facility, it is a catalyst for societal change, building spaces that are physically accessible, socially welcoming, and rooted in the belief that everyone deserves the opportunity to live fully, contribute meaningfully, and be celebrated.
